Transport

Van Mieghem Logistics minimises the environmental impact of its transport activities.

The fleet consists of 100% vehicles that meet the strictest emission standards. Additionally, two Eco-combi’s are used to carry the load of three standard trailers. Several vehicles run on hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), reducing our CO2 emissions by up to 90%. Our fleet also includes several 100% electric vehicles.

Thanks to our internally developed Transport Management System (TMS), we achieve significant savings and implement optimised transport routes. Furthermore, our drivers receive continuous training in eco-driving.

Logistics

Our commitment to sustainability is also reflected in our CO2-neutral logistics centres.

A few examples:

    • Our 10.000 m² of solar panels generate our electricity.
    • LED lighting is used throughout our facilities.
    • Strong recycling policies: recovery of all non-reusable pallets, as well as packaging, and even rainwater collected at our sites. This water is smartly used to provide eco-friendly water supply for our offices.
    • White-painted walls and white roofing on our buildings also help prevent overheating.
